Cloverfield

Return

She needed a face-lift anyway. Get it!?

I saw Cloverfield not sure what to expect. I came out of the theater very happy albeit, very dizzy. The movie was shot completely with a hand held video recorder, it is very precise as far as locations, times, landmarks, geography, even the battery life for the camera is possible to be on to film everything. Truly and amazing and intense piece of work. Be wary though, you may get motion sickness. The monster itself is very cool. And at first you only get to see bits and pieces until the end when he's finally ready for his close up. Every actor and actress performed ably and the creature designs were sweet. T.J. Miller did an exception job as HUD, the person who holds the camera for the majority of the film. You really felt the terror and urgency of a doomed New York. Overall I am very pleased with this movie, even though I'm hesitant to see it again, just because of the motion sickness. If you would like to see what the monster looks like, scroll to the bottom of the page. Warning! Spoilers!

Overall:
8.5 out of 10
